rairie Star is a 101 MW wind asset in Filmore County, Minnesota, that is part of the Vento portfolio of wind assets that Atlantica manages in North America.
Vento is a portfolio of four wind assets located in the states of Illinois, Texas, Oregon and Minnesota in the United States which Atlantica has a 49% equity interest.
Prairie Star which entered into operation in November 2007 is located 15 miles east of Austin along the Minnesota state line and includes farm land in the Clayton, Bennington, Marshall, and Grand Meadow townships in Mower County.

Community and economic benefits
Prairie Star Wind Farm yields significantly in the form of payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment. It is also compatible with other land uses and provides a stable form of income to local landowners.
Wind turbines have a limited footprint, leaving 98% of the project’s leased land available for farming, or wildlife habitat.
