Coso Geothermal:

Community Engagement and Environmental Stewardship

At our Coso geothermal facility, we are committed to supporting our community and protecting local wildlife:

Community Support & Local Partnerships
We provide financial support for college scholarships, youth sports programs, schools, and a variety of local organizations and charities.
Coso proudly sponsors community events helping to generate revenue and strengthen connections within the local area.

Wildlife Monitoring & Protection
We conduct comprehensive, quadrennial studies on the endangered Mojave Ground Squirrel, including trapping, tagging, and ongoing monitoring to document population trends and health.
While the Coso area is not designated as desert tortoise habitat, all personnel are thoroughly trained to respond to unexpected tortoise encounters to ensure their safety.

Our commitment: we are dedicated to taking proactive steps to preserve and protect local ecosystems while responsibly generating clean energy.
