Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure
Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure is a sustainable infrastructure company focused on renewable energy. Atlantica has a 2.2 GW portfolio of assets in operation. In 2023, the renewable sector represented 73% of the Company’s revenue.
Atlantica complements its renewable asset portfolio with storage, efficient natural gas and transmission infrastructure assets, which support the transition towards a clean energy mix. The Company also holds water assets, a significant sector for sustainable development.
Atlantica currently owns 48 assets, with approximately 98% of revenues contracted or regulated. As of September 30, 2024, the Company’s assets had a weighted average remaining contract life of approximately 12 years.
Atlantica’s large existing operating footprint, in-house development capabilities, partnerships with third parties, and new ownership enhances our ability to pursue attractive growth opportunities. We intend to take advantage of, and focus our growth strategy on, favorable trends in clean power generation, energy reliability and the global focus on the reduction of carbon emissions.
Atlantica has a development pipeline of approximately 3.0 GW of renewable energy and 12.0 GWh of storage capacity.
- Approximately 35% of the projects are photovoltaic (PV), 52% storage, 13% wind.
- 72% of this pipeline is in North America and 21% in Europe.
- 12% of the pipeline is expected to reach ready to build (“RtB”) in 2025-2026 and 17% are in an advanced development stage.
- Also, 33% of the projects correspond to opportunities on existing sites, 62% to greenfield developments and 5% to co-developments. Opportunities in existing sites offer lower risk and shorter development timelines compared to other greenfield initiatives
